    Axel Reidlinger studied law in Vienna and Paris. He holds a law degree from the University of Vienna (Dr.iur.) and a business degree from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (Mag.rer.soc.oec.). Following two years as an assistant at the civil and business law department of the Vienna University of Economics and Business and an internship with the European Commission in Brussels, he completed a postgraduate degree at the College of Europe in Bruges, specializing in European law (LL.M.).

    In 1994 he joined the Austrian lawfirm Heller Löber Bahn & Partners, and worked for their Brussels office for several years. After his return to Austria and his admission to the Austrian bar (1998) Axel became a partner at the international lawfirm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in 2001, and headed the firm's Austrian competition practice until April 2015. In May 2015 he co-founded Reidlinger Schatzmann Rechtsanwälte.

    Axel Reidlinger has comprehensive experience in advising clients on issues relating to merger control, cartels and other competition restrictions in dealings with the Austrian competition authorities, the European Commission in Brussels and the European courts in Luxembourg. He also represents clients in proceedings aimed at the enforcement of private claims, e.g. defense against claims to injunctive relief under competition law before the cartel courts, and against claims for damages before civil law courts.

    Axel Reidlinger is the author of a number of specialist publications, including “Das österreichische Kartellrecht” (Linde Verlag, 3rd edition 2014, co-authored with Isabella Hartung), a textbook on Austrian competition law widely recognized for its practice-oriented approach. His further areas of expertise include energy law and EU state aid law, as well as general European law.

    Following his graduation from the law school of the University of Vienna (Dr.iur.) and a postgraduate degree at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LL.M.) Hanno Schatzmann worked for various lawfirms in Austria and England. Since 1997 he has been based in Vienna, where he became a partner at Weiss-Tessbach Rechtsanwälte in the same year, and co-founded the lawfirm Gassauer-Fleissner Rechtsanwälte in 2002, where he was a partner until December 2014. In January 2015 he established the lawfirm Schatzmann Rechtsanwälte, which became Reidlinger Schatzmann Rechtsanwälte in May 2015.

    His main areas of expertise include M&A, corporate law, general company and contract law, and real estate law.

    Hanno Schatzmann is the author of a number of specialist publications.

    Franz Stenitzer studied law in Vienna and Paris. He holds a law degree from the University of Vienna (Dr.iur.) and a postgraduate degree from the College of Europe in Bruges (European law, LL.M.).

    Following internships at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Competition and at a U.S. law firm specializing in antitrust law in Brussels, Franz Stenitzer in 2009 joined the antitrust practice of the international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he worked in the firm’s Brussels and Vienna offices (admitted to the bar in 2012). From 2016 to 2018, Franz Stenitzer worked at the antitrust practice of the Austrian law firm bpv Hügel Rechtsanwälte. Since January 2019, he is counsel at Reidlinger Schatzmann Rechtsanwälte.

    Felix Frommelt studied law at the University of Vienna (Dr. iur.) and at the Stockholm University (environmental law, LL.M.). While working on his thesis, he was a teaching and research assistant at the department of constitutional and administrative law at the University of Vienna for three years. His research focused on public economic law, specifically on European and International environmental law as well as WTO law.

    Felix acquired international experience through his studies and traineeships abroad, e.g. at the European University Institute in Florence or at the Delegation of the European Union as well as the Permanent Mission of Austria to the United Nations in New York and Geneva.

    In 2018, Felix Frommelt joined Reidlinger Schatzmann Rechtsanwälte as an associate. He specializes in competition law, European law and public law.

    Felix Frommelt is the author of several publications on European environmental law and administrative law.

    Diana completed her legal education at the University of Vienna as well as at the Universidad de Barcelona. She also holds a magister degree from the Vienna University of Economics and Business where she studied international business administration. Subsequently, Diana Ionescu worked as a management consultant for the energy industry for more than two years.

    In 2012, Diana joined Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer as an associate, where she specialized on Austrian and European competition law (working mainly on dominance, cartel and merger control cases) as well as energy law. She assisted clients in proceedings before competition authorities, courts and tribunals. She passed the Austrian bar exam in 2015.

    In 2015, Diana joined Reidlinger Schatzmann Rechtsanwälte as an associate and continues to work on competition law and energy law matters.
    Diana Ionescu is the author of several articles in the field of competition law, inter alia „Competition Law Implications of Long-Term Gas Supply Agreements” (ÖZK 2013, 203), „Checkliste: Hausdurchsuchungen durch die Bundeswettbewerbsbehörde“ (ecolex 2014, 976).

    Pia Holter graduated from the University of Vienna and completed her legal clerkship at the public prosecutor’s office department in Wiener Neustadt as well as at a Vienna district court. Since 2016 she has been working for Reidlinger Schatzmann Rechtsanwälte as an associate.

    Already during her studies Pia worked as a trainee at Binder Grösswang Rechtsanwälte and Scheer Rechtsanwalt GmbH. Her work at the European Parliament for MEP Othmar Karas enabled her to obtain a thorough understanding of European law and supported her decision to specialise in competition law.
